‘A Place for Grace’ helps Osceola homeless

Gilbert Exposition Management Services (GEMS), a company that has embodied the notion of enhancing the lives of people in their community will be providing their expert services to the AIA Florida Convention this year. AIA Florida is proud to partner with such a caring group of people.  Owners Ken and Cathy Gilbert had a dream to give the homeless in Osceola a place to call home and, today, that dream becomes reality.

Opening its doors today in St. Cloud is A Place for Grace, a faith-based community outreach center containing 7,000 square feet of office space, a prayer room, kitchen, dining room and a thrift store called Grace’s Attic.  The center serves as the bridge to get individuals and families in the community back to self-sufficiency. Services include evening general education diploma classes, individual case management through the Community Hope Center, job training classes, emergency food services, Medicare/Medicaid/ Blue Cross and Blue Shield form assistance and hot meals once a week. Within the next two months, the center also will add financial services, providing trained volunteers to teach classes in money management.

If you have the ability, please share your support for their amazing work:
