1001 Citrus Avenue | Howey-in-the-Hills, FL  34737

Join OFA for a self-guided tour of the historic Howey Mansion located in Howey-in-the-Hills. Come see the progress as they work to restore the Howey Mansion Estate to its original grandeur. Experience a brief history of the area, as you tour the Mansion and grounds.

William J. Howey purchased 60,000 acres in Lake County by 1920, founding the town that was to bear his name five years later.  Following his previous formula for success practice in Polk County, he planted citrus on the majority of his newly acquired acreage. In 1924, he and his wife, Mary Grace Hastings Howey, completed the plans for their permanent home in Howey-in-the-Hills, and by the end of 1927, the show place was finished, furnished and occupied. The home was built in Mediterranean Revival style.

*Due to its historic nature, The Howey Mansion Estate is not ADA accessible. Stairs are involved and there is not an elevator.
