Maurizio Maso, AIA

Even though I have been sketching, doodling and painting using different media all of my life, only recently I discovered oil painting.
The freedom I find in oil painting from the more technical requirements of my architectural work is energizing, sometime therapeutic, and allows me to go places I wouldn’t be able to go to in my daily work. Conversely, my architectural background serves as a basis for understanding the form and structure I apply to my paintings.
I am attracted to bold, colorful, light subjects.
They are real, yet not hyperreal, and somewhat graphic in nature.
They reflect my inner optimism and my outlook on the different aspects of life.
My hope is to share this enthusiasm with the viewer.
