Architectural Styles

Orlando has some beautiful homes and businesses that were built in many architectural styles. We have created this page to provide examples of different styles that have been built locally since people started settling here. Almost all the structures you see locally, and which remain today for us to share, have all been built since the civil war. Our selection starts since then.

We have to acknowledge our debt to Virginia and Lee McAlester who wrote “A Field Guide to American Houses” which has helped us classify many of these structures. If you are curious about the style of a house this book is a great helpful reference. Our listings below follow their categories.
