About the 2+2+2 Program
Valencia College: Valencia's articulated architecture pre-major facilitates the students’ initial pathway interested in Architecture & Design careers. The college provides the foundation and lower-division courses in the 2+2+2 Program.
UCF School of Architecture: UCF offers a Bachelor of Design in Architecture. This intermediate step in the 2+2+2 Program, provides a convenient, affordable, and flexible way for students to complete their higher education studies in Central Florida.
UF CityLab-Orlando: Located in the heart of downtown Orlando, CityLab is the final step in the 2+2+2 Program, leading to a Master of Architecture degree. The program explores architectural ideas within the city’s context and uses the City of Orlando as a learning laboratory.
2021 2+2+2 Scholarships to be Awarded:
$ 5,000 to a 6th year UF CityLab student
$ 4,000 to a 5th year UF CityLab student
$ 2,000 to a 4th year UCF student
$ 2,000 to a 3rd year UCF student
$ 1,000 to a 2nd year Valencia student
Must be a full-time student enrolled in one of the 2+2+2 programs.
Must be enrolled as a full-time student the semester of the scholarship award.
Must have a minimum 3.40 GPA at the time of application.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
A 2+2+2 program participant is a student enrolled in an architecture degree program at one of the three participating institutions, Valencia College, University of Central Florida, or University of Florida.
CityLab – Orlando candidates:
$ 5,000 to a UF CityLab student pursuing M-Arch or M-Science in Architecture, who have completed a minimum of 12 credits and are entering their final year during the Fall 2021 semester.
$ 4,000 to a student who has accepted an offer of admission to UF CityLab for the first year of the Advanced Master of Architecture or Master of Science in Architecture for the Fall 2021 semester.
Eligible applicants must be graduates of both Valencia College and UCF architecture programs.
University of Central Florida Bachelor of Design in Architecture candidates:
$ 2,000 to a 4th year UCF student pursuing a Bachelor of Design in Architecture, who have completed a minimum of 12 credits and are entering their final year for the Fall 2021 semester.
$ 2,000 to a student who has accepted an offer of admission to the first year of the UCF Bachelor of Design in Architecture program for the Fall 2021 semester.
Eligible applicants must be graduates of the Valencia College architecture programs.
Valencia College Associate in Arts (Architecture) degree program candidates:
$ 1,000 for a student enrolled in the Valencia College Associate in Arts degree program and have completed a minimum of 12 credits or 2nd year for the Fall 2021 semester.
Eligible applicants may apply during their first year of the program and scholarships would only be awarded for the second year.
A complete application consists of the following requirements:
Completed 2+2+2 application form.
Transcript or self-reported GPA, min. 3.40
Cover letter – limit one (1) page, standard letter size 8-1/2 x 11, minimum 10 pt. font
Resume, maximum of one (1) page
Portfolio - A minimum of Four (4) pages of images of selected work, at least three (3) pages must be architectural design projects
Submit all items as one combined PDF, maximum 20MB in size
All documents pages to be letter size (8-1/2” x 11”) page, landscape or portrait orientations are both acceptable
Minimum of two (2) and maximum of three (3) letters of recommendation from college/university professors in the 2+2+2 program or professionals from the architecture/design/construction industry.
Applicants must provide their student ID, the correct mailing address of their institution, and the department where their scholarship check is to be used.
Award amounts will be distributed as a single disbursement after all requirements are met.
Completed applications shall be submitted no later than:
5:00 PM, May 14, 2021
Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
The Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee comprised at a minimum of two Orlando Foundation for Architecture (OFA) Trustees, one AIA Orlando Board member, and one BAM member.
The OFA scholarship committee may request that the Valencia College, UCF, and CityLab program directors prepare a report that:
Verifies applicants are 2+2+2 program students.
Ranks the eligible applicants by grade point average (GPA)
Evaluates Letter of Interest
Makes recommendations for scholarship awards.
The program directors shall forward their reports to the OFA scholarship committee.
The committee members shall meet and rank the applicants based on their individual review of the applicant’s submitted materials based on the following scoring rubric:
