    Our local office of DLR Group Architects has designed a striking new courthouse for Calaveras County in California. Like many local architects, they have a national reputation working on projects around the country. This project received a 2014 Honor Award, by guest jury selection, from the AIA Orlando Chapter.     By reorienting the existing judicial building, the new expansion addresses Main Street with a linear public plaza, providing an ordered setting and formal processional. This campus spans both sides of the downtown thoroughfare stitching together a grand government campus.     Another of 2011’s award winning designs in the Unbuilt Category is the George C. Young Federal Courthouse And Building Orlando, Florida. It received the AWARD OF MERIT, designed by DLR Group, Orlando, Florida. The project reinvigorates an aging building that had lost its admirers, as many buildings eventually do.
