10 Years Ago, Downtown Mini Dealer

Moving to Orlando 8 years ago, I thought it would be interesting to look back 10 years and see what buildings were honored in 2004 by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and share them with you.

One of 2004’s award winning designs was the Downtown Orlando Florida Mini Dealership. It received the AWARD OF HONOR in the Commercial Category, designed by MRI Architectural Group, Orlando, Florida.

I remember driving down Orange avenue in 2006 and seeing a Mini-Cooper attached high in this corner tower on the back wall, with tire tracks leading up to it. I was impressed.

The independent Jury said: “Simple massing which creates a nice urban street retail presence. Clean lines which assist the end user in emphasizing their merchandise.”
