Another of 2011’s award winning designs is the Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida. With the recent removal of some older buildings along Edgewater Drive, the project can now be seen well from the street. It received the AWARD OF HONOR, designed by C.T. Hsu + Associates, P.A., Orlando, Florida. The project incorporated a well loved statue of their mascot and featured the school colors prominently in the facades, and interiors. The new state-of-the-art auditorium meets you first as you drive in from the stoplight.

The independent Jury said: “The layered materials and use of color provide a strong sense of entry. A lot of clarity in the plan diagram. Nice transparency and read-ability of the forms. Nice use of materials.”
