At the corner of Canton and Denning in Winter Park construction has resumed on a site that halted during the recession a few years ago. The partially finished parking garage has sat quietly for a few years. But construction has definitely resumed on what will now be a new 204-unit apartment complex that’s part of the revamp of Winter Park Village.
The estimated $30 million project is located behind the Regal Cinema Winter Park Theaters across Denning, offering new Class A rental apartments to those who are interested in living within walking distance of Winter Park Village. It will offer new apartments in an area that has plenty of demand, with a 94 percent occupancy rate.
Miami-based general contractor First Florida Building Corp. in December pulled a permit from Orange County for the property at 940 W. Canton Ave. in Winter Park. The project is being developed by a joint venture between Casto Lifestyle Properties LP and Winter Park-based apartment builder Epoch Properties Inc. Winter Park-based architect ACi Inc. is the project designer and Miami-based landscape architect Arquitectonica International Corp. is the amenities designer.
