    9 Designers Shaping Central Florida

As part of the Orlando Business Journal’s focus on interior design last week, they asked local firms to name some of their most promising designers: The up-and-comers who will shape the next stage of the region as well as some veterans who still are innovating, shared some of their insights and comments: L2 Studios’ Margaret Brock: “A room needs to make an impact from a three-dimensional perspective. VA Orlando’s Community Living Center

The Orlando VA Medical Center in Lake Nona has a new facility open for business: the Community Living Center, which is the VA’s local nursing home. Rooms are arranged around a common living and dining area for 30 residents, making it seem more intimate and personal. These areas open to an outdoor patio as well for each “household.” The nursing home has about 170 employees, its s

New Museum for Florida Art Rising

In 2015 the private art collection of Cici and Hyatt Brown will have a public home for all to enjoy. The Museum of Arts & Sciences, will own and run the new Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, which recently broke ground on a 5-acre clearing framed by a thick patch of woods off Nova Road in Daytona. “At night this will be a beacon with light glowing out of hidden windows in the lattice,” Andrew Sandall said recently as he toured the site on the north end of his property. “The
